Oil Reset Procedure for Mercedes-Benz C280 for the year 1997
1. Turn ignition to “POSITION 1”.
2. Within 4 seconds, press the “0” button twice.
3. Present status will be displayed, within 10 seconds, turn key to “POSITION 0”.
4. Press and hold the “0” button while turning key to “Position 1”.
5. Continue holding the “0” button for 10 seconds until a sound is heard and display shows “10,000 (15,000KM)” for 10 seconds.
Release “0” button.
6. Turn ignition off.

1. Turn ignition to “POSITION 1”.
2. Within 4 seconds, press the “0” button twice.
3. Present status will be displayed, within 10 seconds, turn key to “POSITION 0”.
4. Press and hold the “0” button while turning key to “Position 1”.
5. Continue holding the “0” button for 10 seconds until a sound is heard and display shows “10,000 (15,000KM)” for 10 seconds.
Release “0” button.
6. Turn ignition off.
Oil Reset Procedure for Mercedes-Benz C280 for the year 2006 through 2007
1. Turn ignition to “POSITION 1”.
2. Press the system selection button repeatedly until the kilometer reading is displayed.
3. Press the cluster illumination button 3 times quickly. The battery voltage will be displayed and a sound will be heard.
4. Turn ignition to “POSITION 2”.
5. Press the up or down arrows until the service menu appears.
6. Press the cluster illumination button once. The oil menu will be displayed.
7. Use the +/- buttons to select the oil used.
8. Use the up or down arrows to confirm. “RESET OIL CONFIRMATION. PUSH R-BUTTON FOR 3 SECONDS” will be displayed.
9. Press and hold the cluster illumination button for 3 seconds. “SERVICE CONFIRMED” will be displayed.
10. Turn ignition off.
About Mercedes-Benz C280
The C-Class was introduced with an entire lineup of engines that featured multiple valves. The M111 family of four-cylinder gasoline engines made their debut in the Mercedes-Benz C 180 (1.8 L, 122 PS (90 kW; 120 hp)), C 200 (2.0 L, 136 PS (100 kW; 134 hp), and C 220 (2.2 L, 150 PS (110 kW; 148 hp), which was the only four-cylinder engine in the range that was offered for sale in the United States. The C 220 was succeeded by the C 230 in the year 1997. The C 230 featured an increased displacement of 2.3 liters but maintained the same output. However, its torque was increased to 220 Nm (162 lb-ft). The C 280 was the top-of-the-line model for this class. It had a straight-six engine with four valves per cylinder and the ability to produce 193 horsepower (142 kW; 190 hp).
The 2.0 liter and 2.2 liter displacements of the four-cylinder diesel models were both powered by the same OM601 engine that was found in the 190. Because of their high level of dependability and low overall fuel consumption, many of these diesel variants were purchased for use as taxis. Additionally, there was the more potent OM605 five-cylinder engine, which came in naturally aspirated (C 250 D) and turbocharged (C 250 TD) variants. One of the novelties in the lineup of engines that are available as of this year is the turbodiesel, which first appeared on the market in 1995. The most important was a supercharged version of the M111 straight four called the C 230 Kompressor. It used a supercharger of the Roots type to generate 193 PS (142 kW; 190 hp) at 5300 rpm; Mercedes-Benz repurposed the technology of the supercharger after 50 years.
