About Infiniti JX35

At first, we were perplexed as to why Infiniti’s lineup required yet another SUV with three rows of seating. It appeared as though a single monstrous tugboat hauler, specifically the V8-powered QX model, was sufficient. On the other hand, the Infiniti JX 2013 is an entirely new endeavor. Simply put, Infiniti got sick and tired of seeing customers go to other brands like Acura, Buick, and Lexus when they were looking for a luxury crossover vehicle that was suitable for families.

The Infiniti JX has been lengthened and widened over the platform that the Nissan Murano rides on, making it an excellent choice for parents who are actively involved in their children’s activities. It has seven seating positions and offers second-row seats that tilt and slide nearly 6 inches forward and backward. This not only provides ample legroom but also makes accessing the third row very simple. The passenger space and cabin space combined are quite ample, and the interior is finished with high-quality materials. Additionally, the JX comes equipped with the most recent advancements in safety technology that Infiniti has to offer. These include systems that assist you in avoiding collisions in your blind spot or while you are backing up.

However, in Infiniti’s quest to achieve respectable fuel economy, the JX has been saddled with a combination of a V6 engine and a transmission that, at best, delivers adequate levels of power. From where I sit in the driver’s seat, performance is dull and uninspiring. Although the new safety technologies are impressive, they come at a high cost and are often bundled together in confusing option packages. Buyers who are only interested in purchasing a roomy luxury crossover will find the 2013 Infiniti JX to be a pleasing choice; however, we would also recommend taking a look at the more athletic Acura MDX, the more affordable Buick Enclave, or the recently improved Lincoln MKT.
