About BMW 640i

The BMW F12 is a two-door convertible version of the BMW 6 Series, while the BMW F13 is a two-door coupe version, and the BMW F06 is a four-door “Gran Coupe” version of the grand tourer. All three models belong to the third generation of the BMW 6 Series. Between the years 2011 and 2018, the F12, F13, and F06 generations were manufactured, and they are frequently referred to as the F12 collectively.

The F12 and the F10 5 Series share a platform and a number of other features. The F12 and F13 have a shorter wheelbase than the F10, whereas the F06 has a wheelbase that is identical to that of the F10.

The M6 model is driven by a twin-turbocharged V8 engine from the S63 derivative that is paired with a dual clutch transmission that has seven gears. It is the first model of the M6 series to use an engine that is turbocharged.

The Gran Coupe models were dropped from the lineup in September of 2018, which brought an end to production of the F12 generation. In June of 2018, production of the BMW 8 Series (G15), which is intended to succeed the F12, commenced.

A nice example of a 640i Gran Coupe with good mileage, well-equipped, and in good condition can be found in the United States for under $35,000. To be sure, the closer you get to $20,000, the higher the mileage and the shadier the dealer. Even so, you can get a BMW 640i Gran Coupe for less money than a brand-new BMW 330i when you consider the differences between the two vehicles.

Let’s take a look at the BMW 640i Gran Coupe and what it brings to the table at a reasonable price. For starters, it’s a large, long, four-door, four-seat grand touring car whose design is only surpassed by the Aston Martin Rapide, which, by the way, was significantly more expensive than the Bimmer when both were new. It’s also a luxurious vehicle, with a starting price of around $76,000 when new. For comparison, the starting price of the current BMW 330i is slightly more than $40,000.
