About Nissan Versa Note
Nissan updated the Versa Note hatchback for 2017, adding the automaker’s V-Motion grille, reworked headlights and taillights, and a new front fascia, while the rear fascia of the SR model is now standard across the board. Nissan also updated the wheel covers on the Versa Note S Plus and SV variants, while the SL trim gets new 16-inch alloy wheels. The Versa Note now has larger cupholders, a second 12-volt outlet (SV, SR, SL), and a repositioned USB port.
In Nissan’s passenger car lineup, the subcompact Versa Note hatchback sits next to the Versa sedan and below the tiny Sentra, midsize Altima, and semi-premium Maxima.
The Nissan Versa Note is powered by a 1.6-liter I-4 producing 109 horsepower and 107 pound-feet of torque and connected exclusively to a CVT with D-step Logic Control for simulated shifts for a more natural feel. The Versa Note gets 31/39/34 mpg city/highway/combined according to the EPA.
There are four trim levels available: S Plus, SV, SR, and SL. The S Plus and SV models come standard with 15-inch steel wheels with covers, while the SR and SL have unique 16-inch alloy wheels. Fog lights, a rear spoiler, body-color side sills, side mirrors with integrated turn signals, machine-faced alloys, seats with suede-like inserts, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel are all standard on the sporty SR variant.
The SL trim level adds NissanConnectSM with Nissan Voice Recognition for navigation and audio, Mobile Apps, a 5.8-inch color touchscreen, SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link, an Around View Monitor multi-camera system, heated front seats and side mirrors, and heated front seats and side mirrors.
Although the NHTSA hasn’t fully evaluated the 2017 Nissan Versa Note, the tiny hatchback received three stars in the frontal collision and four stars in the rollover tests. The IIHS has only examined the 2015 Versa Note in the moderate front overlap test, where it received a Good grade. The basic Vehicle Dynamic Control, Traction Control System, and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), as well as the optional Easy-Fill Tire Alert and rearview camera, are the only active safety features.
The 2019 Nissan Versa Note is one of the most cheap vehicles on the market in America, while not being the most appealing. Those who are solely interested with saving money and travelling from point A to point B will like the vehicle’s comfortable ride quality and low fuel consumption. The attractive hatchback also outshines the unappealing Nissan Versa sedan. So there you have it. Although the Versa Note is an undeniable steal, so are competitors with more desirable features and higher quality. The Nissan’s sluggish engine and bad handling don’t help matters either. Nonetheless, it will satisfy value-conscious customers who simply want to spend as little money as possible on transportation. The 2019 model year will be the last for the Versa Note, as the next generation Versa will only be available as a sedan.
