Oil Reset Procedure for Land Rover LR2 2008-2015

Simple to follow oil reset procedure for Land Rover LR2 for the year 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Land Rover LR2 oil reset procedure for the year 2008 through 2009

1. With key off, press and hold the “TRIP RESET” button and turn the ignition to the “RUN” position.

2. Release the “TRIP RESET” button within 10 seconds of turning ignition on. “dlSt” or “DATE” will be displayed depending on settings if done correctly.

3. To clear “dlSt”, press and hold the “TRIP RESET” button again within 10 seconds for more than 5 seconds. “RESET” will be displayed for 5 seconds.

4. To clear “DATE”, press and hold “TRIP RESET” button for more than 5 seconds within 10 seconds of the “DATE” trigger being displayed. “RESET” will
be displayed for 5 seconds, followed by “END”.

5. Turn ignition off.

About Land Rover LR2

The car-derived Freelander was replaced by the compact LR2, a four-wheel-driver with fully independent suspension but no low-range gearing. Despite its unibody construction, the LR2 had good off-road capability. It is powered by a 3.2-liter inline six-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. The LR2 and LR3 both have a terrain response system that adjusts the AWD system based on terrain conditions such as mud and sand. In our tests, it proved to be quite capable of climbing boulders. The ride is firm but steady, and the steering is precise. During our testing, the LR2 lifted two wheels uncomfortably at its handling limits, reducing driver confidence. The outside visibility is excellent, but the controls are difficult to use. The LR2 was phased out in 2015, and was replaced by the Discovery Sport.
