About Dodge Grand Caravan

A series of minivans known as the Dodge Caravan (as well as the longer-wheelbase Dodge Grand Caravan) were produced by Chrysler between the model years of 1984 and 2020 under the Dodge brand name. The Dodge Caravan, which was essentially a rebadged Chrysler minivan, was marketed to consumers as both a passenger van and a cargo van (the only version of the model line offered in the latter configuration). 1987 marked the debut of a longer-wheelbase version of the Dodge Grand Caravan (becoming the sole version of the model line from 2008 onward). The Dodge Caravan is the second longest-lived Dodge nameplate, having been produced for a total of 36 model years across five generations (exceeded only by the Dodge Charger).

Caravan was initially marketed as the Dodge equivalent of the Plymouth Voyager. Later, it was slotted between the Voyager and the Chrysler Town & Country. Eventually, it served as the lowest-priced Chrysler minivan, slotted below the Chrysler Pacifica. This was accomplished by moving the Caravan below the Chrysler Pacifica. The Dodge Caravan was primarily marketed and sold in the United States and Canada; however, the Chrysler brand was used when the vehicle was sold in Europe and other international markets (as either the Chrysler Voyager and Chrysler Caravan).
