Cadillac Seville oil reset procedure for the year 1993 through 1997.
With DIC:
1. Turn ignition to the “ON” position.
2. Push info button until “OIL LIFE” is displayed.
3. Press and hold “CLR” or “RESET” button until “100%” is displayed.
4. With navigation system: With engine running, press “PWR/VOL” button.
5. Press and hold “INFO” until information menu is entered.
6. Select ENGINE OIL LIFE.
7. Press and hold “RESET” button until “100%” is displayed.

With DIC:
1. Turn ignition to “RUN” position.
2. Press the “TRIP” button until “OIL LIFE REMAINING” is displayed.
3. Press and hold “RESET” until “100%” is displayed.
4. Turn ignition off.

About Cadillac Seville
The moniker “Cadillac’s first little car” was chosen rather than a rebirth of the LaSalle name or LaScala, which was the recommendation of the GM design department. The primary reason for this decision was that, as stated by GM Marketing Director Gordon Horsburgh, “It had no drawbacks.” The name “Leland” was initially proposed as a way to remember one of the company’s founders, but this idea was ultimately scrapped due to the fact that most customers wouldn’t grasp the reference and that Henry Leland had also formed the competing Lincoln brand.
LaSalle was selected as the best option after extensive investigation, followed by St. Moritz in a distant second place and then Seville farther down the list. Both of these potential winners have a checkered history, and their names are notoriously difficult to pronounce, which finally opened the door for Seville to be chosen.
Seville is the name of a province in Spain as well as the city of that province. Seville is well-known for its rich history as well as its riches of art and architecture. Master painters Diego Velázquez and Bartolomé Esteban Murillo were from Seville. The name was first used to a model of the Eldorado automobile produced in 1956 that featured a two-door, hardtop body style. The Eldorado Seville was discontinued after the 1960 model year and would not make a comeback until 1967 under a different name.
Cadillac’s response to the increasing demand for European luxury imports such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and BMW was the Seville, which debuted in May 1975 as a model for the early 1976 model year and was offered by Cadillac. Planners at GM were becoming increasingly concerned about the division’s once-vaunted image as the “standard of the world,” which appeared to be deteriorating, particularly among the younger generation of people who purchased automobiles.
